About Me

Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website! My name is Sami Nye and I am an actor, singer, and dancer working and residing in Los Angeles, California.

I was born in San Diego, California and was bitten by the acting bug at the age of eight when I played "Street Urchin #2" in a local production of Les Miserables. Even at such a young age, the powerful story and gorgeous songs completely captivated me and from then on I was hooked on performing.

I grew up training in classical voice, acting and the standard ballet, tap and jazz. When it came time to choose a university, my heart was set on the University of Southern California. While studying theatre at USC, I was lucky enough to be mentored by some of the greatest actors, singers, and musical theatre performers in the industry such as Mary Joan Negro, Lynn Helding, and Vicki Lewis. These women helped me to hone my craft and decide what kind of artist I wanted to be once I ventured into the real world.

Since graduating from USC in 2016 I have been fortunate enough to play Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Brenda in Hairspray at Performance Riverside, Glinda in The Wizard of Oz at Candelight Pavilion, performed at Disneyland as a member of the vintage trio The Sweethearts, performed in more than ten short films and one feature film, and lent my voice to various characters in podcasts as a recurring cast member of PARCAST Network. Most recently, I had the honor of performing around the world aboard the Seabourn Sojourn as a lead vocalist in their stunning show An Evening with Sir Tim Rice and performed in places like Brazil, South Africa, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Japan, the Philippines and Australia.

Whether it is musical theatre, film and television, voiceover, or singing, my passion is telling beautifully crafted stories. I hope that my performances in every medium can move and inspire audiences; whether it is making them laugh, cry, forget their problems, or challenge the way they view the world. My goal and mission as an artist is to create art that in some way can help make this world a better place and to inspire others in the same way I was inspired by the performing arts as a child.
